Sometimes you need to just ‘take a moment’ for yourself. To just be you!

Sometimes you need to get away from it all, and rePHresh!

That is the message I was reminded of, today, while walking and driving through a grocery store parking lot.

The FIRST personalized license plate I saw was: JUST BU
The SECOND one I saw noted: GO AWAY
The THIRD one I saw noted: LIL BIT

I like to encourage people to BE AWARE, STAY ALERT and BE SAFE when out on the roads by TAKING NOTICE of what is going on around them.

Today’s message for ME was: GO AWAY for a LITTLE BIT and JUST BE YOU!

SPIRITIUAL? RELIGIOUS? Just a SMART THING TO DO? Maybe ‘get out to the dessert, or beach, or just be aware on the road and STAY IN the GIFT of the PRESENT. No matter HOW you approach it; NOW is the TIME to DO IT.

TAKE some TIME for yourself right now.
For a LITTLE BIT.
JUST BE YOU.

There’s a familiar phrase from a song: ‘Do you SEE what I see? Do you HEAR what I hear?’

I am self-title an O.S.E. (OUTLOOK SHIFT ENGINEER!); because I choose to SEE and HEAR things from several sides, angles and views.

During a self-awareness, AH! HA! moment in my life – I was gift with the mantra/phrase: ‘I CHOOSE TO FEEL WHAT I NEED TO HEAL; I CHOOSE TO FACE WHAT I NEED TO REPLACE.’ Meditating and visualizing life occurrences with this positive affirmation, allowed me to MOVE FORWARD in life and get UN-STUCK.

I now invite people I talk to and meet to SEE and HEAR things from a PHresh Outlook. reNEWed, reVIEWed, rePHRESHED …

When I went grocery shopping this just a bit ago, I was in the checkout line. As the checkout clerk processed my groceries for purchase, a fellow employee came over to help her bag the groceries for me. He said: ‘HOW WAS YOUR CHRISTMAS CANDY?’

My mind immediated processed it as I have type it above: ‘How was your Christmas Candy?’ I instantly thought: ‘I guess she brought some Christmas Candy to work and had it for lunch or break?’

THEN! I rePHreshed my HEARING and MENTAL PROCESSING and realized her name tag noted: CANDACE

The young man was asking: ‘How was your Christmas, Candy?’ AH! HA! It’s all in how you SEE it with a COMMA or not, all in how you HEAR it, with the PAUSE!

It’s the same in LIFE, with life occurrences and situations. It’s about THE PAUSE! Taking a MOMENT to PROCESS and SEE ALL the POSSIBILITIES!

I let Candace know what I had thought, and originally assumed. She didn’t have any other customers, so she bent forward, SMILED, LAUGHED, PAUSED and said: ‘THAT’S FUNNY! I NEVER THOUGHT OF HEARING IT THAT WAY!’

As I drove home, passing a local BOWLING CENTER (TRINDLE BOWL); I had to laugh as I drove by their advertising sign. The sign read: ‘CELEBATE NY EVE WITH US!’ No! I DID NOT mistype that word.

I had to laugh. Once again, I was getting the message, it’s all in how you SEE it or READ it! Did you automatically include the missing ‘R’ for the word CELEBRATE?

Sometimes, we READ THINGS INTO a situation; make assumptions.

Being menopausal, I tend to make quite an iteresting spectacle of myself, out in public, from time to time. This is mixed in with my healthy, positive moments. I guess it’s all about balance and imbalanced! HA HA I work at MAKING AMENDS for the UN-BALANCED moments. It’s all about THE PAUSE … taking that MOMENT to SEE, FEEL, HEAR, PROCESS and QUESTION for CLARITY.

GRATEFUL for TODAY’s AH! WARENESS! … to be AH! WARE! of the MOMENTS today, that are teaching me more lessons.
GRATEFUL to be able to CARE and SHARE!

I teach what I need to learn, I share because I care. SO THERE! HEAR! HERE!

As I stepped out my back door to place refuse into my trash can; my eyes caught something odd on the lawn next door. My brain didn’t immediately understand what it was seeing. I ‘THOUGHT’ I saw a neighbor, face-down, working on some issue with their home. Then, I noticed the bare feet (in Winter). Some people do interesting things like that, so I was going to go over and ‘joke’ with the person. I could only see the pant legs and feet from where I stood.

Then, my mind started to awake. ‘WHAT IF THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG? I didn’t see any movement.’ I ran back into my home to get my cell phone to take with me, as I walked over to ask if they were okay?’ After taking a few steps towards the lawn of the home next to me, I immediately started to dial 911 emergency.

I am excellent in crisis situations. I think clearly, I handle things, I get things done. The other side of the coin is, I am deeply feeling. As I gave clear address, name, found dead body, face ashy, soiled pants, eyes dead stare information to the 911 operator; I felt instant sadness that someone may be worried or looking for this woman. The LADY ON THE LAWN.

I have dealt with many challenges and trauma in my life, so I knew what to do to take care of myself and get on with living life. I stayed physically active, and called friends to talk about it. I was grateful when the police noted they knew who she was, from a home in my development. I was grateful I had found her in time, before her body was further harmed.

It’s one week before the celebration of CHRISTMAS, and just finishing Hanukah. I wrote my own eulogy for this LADY ON THE LAWN. I like to think that her final GIFT to the world was the AWARENESS of the fragility of LIFE! This is the same week that many lives were taken from school children. More angels making us AWARE of the GIFT of LIFE!

When I exited my home around Noon, today – I saw ANOTHER SIGN of THE GIFT OF LIFE! A Central Pennsylvania BLOOD MOBILE! A traveling medical unit used for persons to DONATE THE GIFT OF LIFE to someone dealing with blood loss.

It’s interesting that something like BLOOD, that can make people squeamish and pass out; gives the GIFT OF LIFE!

There are SIGNS all around us, they don’t always come in PRETTY, FESTIVE, WRAPPED PACKAGES. Sometimes these signs come from a person expression rage or confusion (via senseless acts); or from a neighbor who lived alone – and wouldn’t have been found for days – if she hadn’t wondered out of her home and expired on my neighbor’s lawn. Sometimes, it comes in the shape of a mobile blood unit.

To the ANGELS that come in all disguises, as well as THE LADY ON THE LAWN, the Loss of Life of Children in school … the blood mobile unit workers …

Thank you for the WAKE-UP CALL … the 9-1-1- CALL TO LIFE! SEEING THE LIGHT this Hanukah and Christmas time.

END of the WORLD or the BEginning of a NEW DAY!

Synchronistically, I just think it is FUN and AH! MAZING!

Maybe it’s a day to get all your DUCKS in a ROW … or all your NUMBERS in a ROW?   :-)

OUTLOOK SHIFT ENGINEER!

I am blessed to have had an AH! HA! Life Changing Moment at age 49 (now age 53). I am now able to appreciate all life expression without fear! I used to have an extreme fear of bees and spiders (as well as other insects) – to the point of almost wrecking my car; or hitting/whacking others if they were nearby when I freaked out!

So, I walked over to our community mailboxes a bit ago. It is overcast and drizzly-rainy out. There tend to be big black and yellow, wood boring bumble bees that live around the mailbox roof covering. I am able to freely walk over, and allow them to BEE *hee hee.

It is interesting that I used to also not relate to the clothing color combination of black and yellow, I didn’t like the way they looked together. Once I had my AH! HA! moment, the IRONY is … my business logo colors ended up being black lettering on yellow background!

I also learned, through color psychology years ago – yellow agitates the brain and inspires learning. It is a good color for schools.

Well, today – when I went to the mailbox, I had mailed a letter and retrieved my incoming mail. As I was walking away from the mailboxes, I heard a familiar ‘HMMMMMMMM’ (buzzzzzz). It wasn’t one of the wood boring bees. I could tell the difference in the hmmmm/buzzzzz.

Listen to me! *hee hee I NOW SPEAK BEE LANGUAGE! HA HA! I realized a little honey bee was ‘checking me out’!

I RESPECTED the BEE, allowing it to EXPRESS its life in its own NATURE – NATURALLY *hee hee

I KNEW it had caught the scent of my hair care products, and was checking to see if I was a flower, etc.

So, I STOPPED
I PAUSED
I SMILED as I listened to its HMMMMM….
I SAW it slowly flying off to my left
I FELT it checking out my hair …

SOMETHING SMELLS ‘FUNNY’ perhaps it was thinking. Well! I AM KNOWN AS HA HA HELEN!

Then, I noticed it flew away.

I SMILED as I continued onward, reviewing my mail, as I walked towards my home.

How wonderful to just BE with the BEE, respect it, and BE at PEACE.

I am now, 53.  The song ‘Logical’ came out yearrrrrrs ago, eh hem.  I always HATED that song!  I could not stand the ‘SOUND’ of it.  I would always turn off the radio; or change the station, as soon as it came on the air.

I have ‘LIVED’ a lot of ‘LIFE’.  I have NOT always ALLOWED life experiences to present themselves to me, and teach me.

One day, I was in a local store where I work parttime (having to listen to the LOGICAL song a lot – and blocking it out – over the public address system).   The woman entered the store BOLDLY, with a BIG Presence and FAST pace walk.  I instantly ‘didn’t like this lady’.  (have to smile and laugh at my instant judgement.)

I went about my work, stocking shelves.  Then, the woman was getting ready to check out with the cashier, for her purchases.  Just as she came back towards the front of the store, the LOGICAL song came on the public address system.   She ANNOUNCES LOUDLY …. “GREAT SONG!”

Her ‘BIGness and LOUDness’ forced me to: PAUSE, STOP, and TRULY notice and listen to the words of the song.

WOW! (World Of Wonder!)  WHAT A GREAT SONG!  It’s what I’m all about!   Being INDEPENDENT;  thinking CREATIVELY; looking at LIFE with a PHresh Outlook!   It’s about how we are taught to think in one way, but – as we learn throughout life – there are MANY WAYS to view a situation!  We have CHOICE!

We hear, a lot, about all the ANGELS and TEACHERS that come across our path in life.  We hear a lot about how they may be someone who is Homeless, someone who is very aggravating, someone whom we INSTANTLY DISLIKE!  (laughing at myself, here)

Isn’t LIFE AH! MAZING!  I tell people: ‘I teach what I need to learn; I share because I care.’

I am GRATEFUL for this BOLD, LOUD, ANGEL who I INSTANTLY DISLIKED – who GOT MY ATTENTION.

It TAKES a BIG, LOUD, BOLD, OPINIONATED ANGEL to GET my ATTENTION!  (laughing out loud, here)

I now have a new FAVORITE SONG!   I tend to FEEL and RELATE to the SOUND of the MUSIC and NOT always NOTICE the WORDS.  I found this out when I started to sing professionally.  I always LOVED the song ‘ALL OF ME’ – it had such a wonderful, flowing, fun feel to it!  When I LEARNED, READ, and SANG the WORDS – I now DISLIKE this song.  WHY would I want to give my ARMS and LEGS etc. to someone in a relationship?   How HEALTHY would THAT be?

My point is, WHAT I HAVE LEARNED, as we are constantly told  …

JUST BE … BE Grateful for EVERYONE that CROSSES your path each day; no matter how much they IRRITATE, AGITATE, etc.  I SEE the MIRROR they are carring, reflecting ME!   I SEE the lessons they are TEACHING ME.

Little by little, step by step …  when I’m ready – I acknowledge and thank the latest angel that was BRAVE ENOUGH to CROSS the LIFE PATH of HA HA Helen.   They tend to have to JUMP OUT IN FRONT OF ME to get my attention!

I just became aware of a NEW one, yesterday!  *hee hee   I am now seeing this one as a SHINING LIGHT of irritation; REFLECTING some of my own behavior back at me.   BACK AT YA’!  … she is saying.

LIVING LIFE! LAUGHING OFTEN!   ‘Calling all angels … ‘   (another song I like … let me go truly see the words …)

FA-GED-ABOUD 11-11-11 AND 12-12-12 … we need to focus on the year 2020 and improved VISION for a Perfect View of the Big ‘E’ – ENVIRONMENT.

Do you recall, or are you familiar with the words of a song:  ’BE KIND TO OUR FINE FEATHERED FRIENDS … THAT BIRD MAY BE SOMEBODY’S MOTHER…’  

I was inspired with the thought to SHIFT our VISION and AWARENESS and FOCUS on the BIG ‘E’ –  like in an eye exam.

Only, it would be an ‘I’ inner examination.  Examination of self-awareness.   I know POBODY’S NERFECT (nobody’s perfect)… it’s all about the B A B Y   S T E P S.  Every little bit helps.

I realized we are only 8 years away from the year 2020.  EYE/I am wondering if that should be the year we aim for PERFECT VISION!  A vision of a HEALTHY, PEACEFUL, WELL FED, RESPECTED ENVIRONMENT!   Focusing on the ‘Big E’.

It’s the LITTLE THINGS that count.  I asked a neighbor if he could stop installing, using a MEGA SUPER MIND, BODY, ENVIRONMENT HARMING BASS BEAT on his vehicle the other day.  Wonderful soul, loving parent and grandparent, wonderful neighbor.   

I knew and felt how EXCRUCIATINGLY this DEEP, EARTH VIBRATING, HOME VIBRATING, EAR-NERVE RUPTURING was raising havoc within me and around me; I couldn’t imagine how

Birds

Bees

Ground Hogs

Cats and other life expressions were being impaired by it.    It was a lack of awareness – not a cruel gesture – just a lack of awareness on his part.  My request for it to stop went unheard.  

We need to be KIND to our FINE Feathered friends, as well as bees, earthworms, etc.   They provide pollinations, loosening of the earth/soil and help our FOOD SOURCE to grow – to nourish us.

I couldn’t imagine how the FISH in nearby streams and creeks in my neighborhood could be dealing with the DEEP, POUNDING ENDLESS thud going through the water into their nervous systems.

I am grateful this action caused me to be more SELF-AWARE and CARE enough to PONDER … more and more …

what am I/EYE doing and SEEING that can help me to FOCUS on the BIG ‘E’ (ENVIRONMENT) - 

to create  IMPROVED or NEAR PERFECT VISION as we head for the year 2020.

I was at a local pharmacy the other day. They had a 75 percent markdown table. It had a lot of hair care products on it. I started to read the labels on the front, to see what they did, in the event I could make use of them. I found their SUPER POWERS AH! MAZING!

I then started to read the back labels, for additional information. WOW! (World Of Wonder!) These products were SUPER PRODUCTS! They had TRANSFORMATIONAL POWERS!

The more I read, the more I started to SMILE, then LAUGH!  :-)

I started to think, if these hair care products could do so much for a person’s hair; just THINK what they could do for a person’s SELF-ESTEEM!

Taking it further … just THINK what these products could do for WORLD PEACE!

If these SUPER-POWERED hair care products could be distributed around the world; they could make everyone FEEL SO GREAT that no one would want to fight with one another; and they would LOOK FANTASTIC, too!

It’s been a week of wonderful NEW messages!

1) Driving myself happy, I saw a license plate that started with HBD (that reminded me of HAPPY BIRTHDAY!) Everyday is a good day to CELEBRATE LIFE and New Beginnings!

2) That same day, I heard a little girl tell her dad she would be turning 7 in October! She then, asked, which month she would be celebrating her birthday NEXT year? He let her know if you be the same month and day, each year. Perhaps she would have liked to celebrate her Life and Birth EVERY MONTH! Hearing the conversation made me smile!

3) The next day I received an unexpected call from a woman wanting to hire me to help her CELEBRATE HER BIRTH/LIFE by coming to her birthday celebration as Ha Ha Helen, Outlook Shift Engineer! The wonderful news, was that after a year had passed since her husband’s unexpected death, she was now ready to MOVE FOREWARD and would be CELEBRATING his and her life on her BIRTHDAY, with an intimate gathering of friends! HOW BEAUTIFUL!

4) I received a call, last evening, from a woman who had received a LAFOLOT.com bookmark/business card from me, at a craft show 4 years prior! She said she had held onto it, and decided to call me for some MOTIVATION! I talked to her about my life, and my healthy trigger tool methods wrapped up in silliness, merriment and myrth. She noted she had just gotten joy out of squeezing a sponge and watching the soap bubbles ooze out of it, while washing the dishes. I said: ‘YOU GOT IT! THAT’S IT!’ To find joy in the simple things in life, that allow us to OUTLOOK SHIFT, and move forward! She noted she had been ill, was just coming out of a slump, but had decided to get her craft supplies out – to start MOVING FORWARD, again – when she had found my card!

I told her I was GLAD SHE HAD CALLED, told her about the other call I received to CELEBRATE LIFE, and that I appreciated her AFFIRMATION of the GOOD THINGS I DO and SHARE with people, as my LAFOLOT business!

She noted that ‘tomorrow’ (now today as I write this), Monday – September 17, 2012 – ROSH HASHANAH – is her birthday!

I said: HOW WONDERFUL! I see her as a SHOOTING STAR, moving forward! I see that wish for us all!

5) I had a waking dream with the words of the song running through it: ‘You can stay forever, it’s fine by me … it’s fine by me …’ [I had been 'STUCK' in thoughts of the past Hell of my family challenges - some due to sitting with my mom in Hospice this past year - prior to her passing. I had been drug back down, into memories of the struggles, neglect and challenges - and LIFE LESSONS.]

As morning came, (dreams allow you to do AH! MAZING! things!) I saw myself taking STEEP, BOOKSHELF-LIKE STAIRS, 2 and 3 at a time, flying UPWARD and AWAY from the DARK chasm I saw below me, LEAPING UPWARD and AWAY from it – having LEARNED from it! Like a warrior. I had to laugh, I felt like YODA HA HA HELEN, a five feet, two inch, plump, menopausal woman, LEAPING and RISING UPWARD!

As I awoke, getting out of bed, I recalled a phrase my oldest, brain damaged sister, Dolly – had said on the phone to me, recently. It was quite healthy! She was ANNOYED, and in order to let me know she was done with the phone call, said: ‘HAVE A NICE DAY HELEN! … I SAID, HAVE A NICE DAY!’ This was a healthy response for her, normally not able to control her temper due to the front lobe brain damage.

I took HER LESSON, and said to that DARK, CHASM of OLD THOUGHTS and EXPERIENCES … THANK YOU, HAVE A NICE DAY! I SAID, HAVE A NICE DAY! I am moving upward, outward and onward!

When I got out of bed, the words of this song came to mind: ‘The sun goes UP, the sun goes DOWN; The UNIVERSE goes ALL AROUND; My UNIVERSE, will never be the same … I’m glad you came, I’M GLAD YOU CAME!’

To all the spiritual, earthly, TEACHERS who took me through those sometimes dark chasms to help me to FEEL, LEARN, HEAL, FACE and REPLACE … THANK YOU, YOU HAVE A NICE DAY! I’m GLAD you CAME to pass … on messages and lessons … Have a Nice Day!
