“Helen,
I thought of you when I was at the airport. I was looking around to see if I could find anybody important. All of a sudden, I remembered you had told me I was important, so I stopped looking. I decided I was as important as anyone else in the airport.” Nancy – ‘The Laughter Lady’ – Sunny South Carolina – August 26, 2011
RE: Laughter! Let’s Get Serious! Program by Ha Ha Helen Szollosy of LAFOLOT:
Dear Helen,
From everyone at the Trindle Parkinson’s Support Group, our thanks for a fun-filled meeting. Looking around the room, it was so nice to see everyone participating, doing your exercises and enjoying the silliness. You enabled each to us to relax and have a good time. It was obvious from all the jokes told after your program that people didn’t want to go home. Our best wishes to you. The Parkinsons Support Group at Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg PA
‘Laughter? Let’s Get Serious!’ Program at Millersville University, PA:
Ha-ha Helen!
Thank You!!! We were so glad to meet you and happy to have you at Millersville! It was wonderful to fill the gym with ha-ha’s, he-he’s, and ho-ho’s… Everyone can connect to your stories and learn from your exercises, and it was great to laugh with such a large group! Hope to see you soon!
Thanks again,
Nick, Josh, and Zak from Millersville Peer Health Education

Helen,
That was a wonderful article about you. As a matter of fact, I printed it out to save. It will go in the file, “History of the Laugh Connection.” That’s where I put significant printed items that are near and dear to my heart like thank-you cards or stories of some of my favorite laughter programs.
Are you going to the Advanced Workshop? I’m dying to meet you in person.

How exciting! I just read your article in the Patriot. We only occasionally buy one, but Gary brought one home today. Must have been fate. It was such a good article. Like Gary and me, you seem to be waging a successful war on maturity.

You are such an inspiration. When I was a young girl, I could start from serious and work myself up to hysterical laughter, just like you. I haven’t down that in, well it’s more than 50 years. I think I shall give it a try. Hopefully, my husband won’t call the men in little white jackets, as we used to call them!! You’re the best.

“I found it particularly interesting how you used the sheet music and its components to address spirituality, unity, culture, and diversity to address inherit belief systems that cause social injustice. Additionally, it was encouraging to see the negative turned positive notes, as you have done with your negative personal experiences growing up.”

Helen, I have been a silent fan of yours for quite a while. I love what
you’ve been posting. Before I forget, I want to thank you again for that very
generous carton of donations for the AATH conference raffle last year. I
over-heard people around the gift table saying, “Oh that’s Helen’s stuff.
She’s great!” etc…
Anyway, I would like to comment on your last posting about how you reacted to the cat jumping off the counter and the plant/dirt falling on the
floor. What you said, it’s priceless to laugh instead of get up-tight about the normally upsetting event of spilling/breaking something. That’s the goal of ALL of my humor habits — staying healthy. Getting upset about this little
stuff in life impacts our health. Developing healthy responses to everyday
upsets is an investment in your good health. Bravo.
You’re a rock star Helen.
